Description

Week 6: Build a Bike with Elias Gross, Ages 9-14

 

A bicycle doesn’t seem like a simple machine, but with a few tricks and some common tools, you can fix and build your own! Join Elias “Mr. G” Gross for a hands-on journey through basic bicycle mechanics. Students will learn how to strip a bicycle down to its component parts and build a working bicycle from the frame up. Students will learn how to use common bicycle tools safely and will learn how to diagnose common bicycle problems. Students will work collaboratively to build bicycles during the week and will donate the final project at the end of the week. This camp will include one field trip to the Recyclery in Chapel Hill.
