Registration for this schedule starts on 01/14/2025 and ends on 07/07/2025
Participants must be 9 years to 14 years old when the program starts.
Are you a young skateboarder who wants more practice and a chance to improve your skills? Have you always wanted to skate but never had the chance? Spend a week learning the basics of skating and the positive aspects of skate culture. We will get warmed up and practice on campus and then venture out to explore local skateparks of the triangle (Apex, Durham, Chapel Hill). Any level of experience is welcome! All skaters need a board, helmet, and pads to ride. Let's skate! Ben Trueblood grew up skating in Chicago in the 1980s and has continued to skate for his whole life. He is also a class teacher at Emerson Waldorf, a mushroom forager, and a forest dweller. He is interested in the connection between kinesthetic learning and the development of mental health and other human capacities. Ben lives with his family in Hillsborough and, when not teaching, can be found skating or scouring the woods for treasures. Ben is looking forward to returning to Skate Camp and is excited to keep the stoke going for another generation.
Please contact Emerson Waldorf School if you have any questions.
