Description

Embark on an exciting journey through the vibrant cultures of Latin America at our immersive summer camp! This hands-on program is designed for kids to explore the rich traditions, history, and diverse cultures of Latin America through a variety of fun and educational activities. Campers will

 

  • Experience the thrill of classic Latin American games, learning the cultural significance behind each one.

  • Dive into the flavors of Latin America by cooking and tasting traditional dishes. Learn about the ingredients, history, and regional variations of these delicious foods.

  • Sing along to lively Latin American folk songs and rhythms, including popular tunes from different countries. Learn the stories behind the songs and how music plays an essential role in Latin American culture.

  • Journey through the rich folklore of Latin America as we share stories of ancient myths, legends, and fairy tales from diverse cultures, from the Aztec and Maya to indigenous communities in the Andes and the Amazon.

  • Create traditional arts and crafts that reflect the artistic traditions of the region and offer campers a chance to express their creativity.

Fernanda Brito-Munoz is from Chile, and she currently teaches Spanish for first through eighth graders at Emerson Waldorf. She is excited to share her culture and childhood memories with children this summer.
